What to Expect

Your PRP Experience

A guided walk through the patient journey, from consultation to aftercare, with honest information about what you may experience along the way.

Step by Step

The Patient Journey

Every PRP experience begins with a consultation and follows a structured, physician-guided process. Here is what each step involves.

01

Consultation

Discuss your goals, medical history, and whether PRP is an appropriate option for you.

02

Treatment Planning

If suitable, a personalized plan is developed based on your concerns and evaluation.

03

Blood Collection

A small blood sample is drawn, similar to a routine lab draw.

04

PRP Preparation

The sample is processed in a centrifuge to concentrate platelet-rich plasma.

05

Procedure

PRP is applied or administered according to the approach selected by your clinician.

06

Aftercare & Follow-up

You receive aftercare guidance and follow-up to assess your individual response.

Honest Information

What You May Experience

PRP is generally well tolerated, but it is important to understand what may happen during and after treatment. Being informed helps you decide whether PRP is right for you.

Discomfort

Mild discomfort is possible during blood collection and treatment. A topical numbing agent may be used for facial treatments to improve comfort.

Bruising

Bruising may occur at the blood draw site or, less commonly, at treatment areas. It typically resolves on its own within a few days.

Redness

Redness is common after microneedling or injections and usually fades within a day or two.

Swelling

Mild swelling may occur, especially with facial treatment. It is typically temporary.

Infection Risk

Infection is rare but possible. Sterile technique and proper aftercare help minimize this risk. Contact your provider if you notice signs of infection.

Limited or No Improvement

PRP outcomes vary. Some individuals see meaningful improvement, while others may see limited or no visible change. Results are not guaranteed.

Medical Disclaimer

This information is educational and is not medical advice. PRP applications for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration are elective, cosmetic uses of an autologous preparation. PRP combined with microneedling is not FDA-approved or FDA-cleared. Outcomes vary, and some individuals may experience limited or no improvement. Treatment suitability is determined by a licensed provider during consultation. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional about your specific concerns and medical history.
